Chakrata is one amazing secluded destination elevated 2270 Mts / ~7500 Ft above sea level in the Dehradun of Uttarakhand state. It gives a picturesque and serene environment, away from the pollution. A cantonment area situated between Yamuna and Tons river. Rhododendron and oak trees surrounds the area, Chakrata is located around 90kms North-West of Dehradun. To the east of Chakrata, lies the famous Mussoorie and on the west lies kaleidoscopic Kinnaur. After taking all these pains, Chakrata is worth visiting during the monsoon and fruitful where one will surely enjoy being wet during monsoon.
There are number of activities which can be done in Chakrata are Camping, Caving, Rock climbing, Rappelling, Water rappelling, Cycling, Night Hiking , Bird watching plus visit to the local villages. The alpine meadows of Mundali (2776 mts.), offers skiing opportunities, November to April.
An innovation on top of Rappelling, as the word suggests, you get to rappel down a waterfall. In Chakrata we do waterfall rappelling down a beautiful waterfall – Kimona. Its 5 minutes walking distance from our campsite.
Chakrata has a large number of easy and moderate treks in the green environs. To name a few : Budher Meadows and Budher caves trek, Kimona to Tiger Falls trek, Campsite to Deoban trek and lots more.
Although we cover the below mentioned cycling routes on our expeditions, our most popular is Paradise camps to Tiger Fall Cycling and back, the reason being that it leads you to the tiger falls, where you can take a cool dip.
