The well known frozen river trek formally known as Chadar Trek is one of the most adventurous trek available in India and is on to do list of all serious trekker. Falling in the Ladakh region this trek is done after mid January when most of the Zanskar River gets frozen and the temperature drops down few negative °C during the day. A trek done in extreme inhospitable conditions, with the route constantly changing as the new ice forms and old melts every few hours.Day 01: Leh Arrive at Leh, rest and acclimatize for rest of the day. Stay overnight in guest house/ hotel Meals: Dinner Day 02: Leh Though the major part of the day would be to acclimatize however the group will go for a walk to Shanti Stupam Leh Palace, Local Market etc for getting the body adjusted to the altitude. Stay overnight in the guest house/hotel. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Day 03: Leh – Tilat Sumdo Transfers to Chilling from Leh, the distance is of approximately 60 kms and takes around 3 hrs to reach. From Chilling the trek for the day starts, the next destination is Tilat Sumdo which is about 2 kms and takes around 1 hr to reach. Stay overnight in camps. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Day 04: Tilat Sumdo – Shingra Koma Trek to Shingra Koma from Tilat Sumdo is of ~ 10 kms and will take around 6 hrs to reach. Stay overnight in camps. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Day 05: Shingra Koma – Tibb Trek Tibb from Shingra Koma is of ~15 kms and will take around 8 hrs to reach. Stay overnight in camps. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Day 06: Tibb – Nerak Trek to Nerak from Tibb is of ~ 12 kms and will take around 7 hrs to reach. Stay overnight in camps Meal: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. The return journey is the retrace of the route taken i.e. Nerak >> Tibb >> Shingra >> Tilat >> Chilling On day 09 the vehicle will be waiting at Chilling for onwards journey to Leh. Stay overnight in guest house/ hotel in Leh.
• Stay accommodation in guest house/ hotel in Leh. • Stay accommodation in camps on trekking days on twin/ multi sharing. • Tented accommodation on all trekking days with sleeping mattress and bag, kitchen tent etc. • Meals as mentioned above. • Airport & Chilling Transfers. • Goody bag & snack packs en route on all trekking days. • Porters/ mules will be provided on sharing basis. Porters would be used only for transfer of luggage (partial); you will be required to carry your own day back packs. • All the permit fees, forest department and camping charges for the trek. • Trip is accompanied by a vXplor buddy for smooth operations and management of entire trip. • Professional guide and a trek leader
• Any sightseeing expense or food/ beverages consumed in Leh or on trek other then mentioned in the itinerary. • Any kind of insurance • Any expenditure of personal nature like phone calls, tipping, any kind of medical expense • Any additional cost or expanse incurred due to unforeseen events or weather. Payment: 70% payment is to be made at the time of registration. Balance payments is to be made a fortnight before the trip date.
